Past Work

Here’s a collection of six previous pieces of work that relate to my thesis project. A brief overview of each work is presented on this page with Development Directive PDFs with full process narrative and work linked.

Work Sample Two:

Branding: TEDTalks 2020 - Branding You

Who we are and how we define ourselves is closely tied to outside influences, like the things we wear, the cars we drive, and the sports teams we love. It defines us on an individual level, and on a group/societal level. These influences are all carefully crafted by design/marketing methodologies of corporate brands. I propose a conference that further explores this relationship between how we see ourselves and how that relates to the brands we most closely identify with. This conference will explore this through seven well-defined sections:

Process: I wanted to find and apply some specific words to the way in which I will design the branding for this conference. These will help guide me through each stage of the design process.
Texture: To stay away from flat color shapes whenever possible and incorporate prints (Jackson Pollock paintings, Ele Jordan texture)
Collage: Use the humanistic quality of collage as a way to convey identity.
Imprint: Make a strong first impression with the designs.
Organic Geometry: Make geometric shapes accentuate human and natural shapes.

How This Relates to My Work:

This project, Branding You, was a great way for me to build a fully comprehensive branding strategy about how we see ourselves (our identity) and how what we are exposed to shapes that. It also taught me the important skills of building a proper design process book, and working with digital design tools for app and web design.
